Hello - Squirt is a happy, healthy (non-release) four year old Eastern Grey. Yesterday I noticed this red sore on his tummy (between his chest and abdomen). It does not seem to be bothering him but it also does not seem to be getting better (in fact it may be a little worse from yesterday). He lives inside and isn't around any other squirrels. Can anyone tell me potentially what this might be and how I can treat it? Thank you so much in advance.

I wish I could help Squirrelfan01 but I really don't know what that is. Is it possible he hung a claw/nail in his flesh and made the puncture? :dono Do you have any other pets that could have done that?
It doesn't look too bad but I would watch it. I guess you could put a topical antibiotic ointment on it.

If it does get worse, you could treat with an antibiotic but it doesn't look too bad right now.

Thank you so much for the reply. He does not come into contact with our 8 year old dog that also stays inside. I was wondering the same if maybe he snagged himself on something. I read on some posts on TSB that Neosporin is probably OK so I may try that later. I'm trying not to worry too much but that's very hard with my little furry grey "child.":Love_Icon

The neosporin is ok to use.
Not knowing his "cage" set up I would also check his habitat for
any loose bars, wire, or splinter if wood is involved.
