Any suggestions for marking the babies, to be able to tell them apart? After they reach the age of having their eyes open?

Thank you

Nail polish on different nails can help.

Make a small dot on their white belly with a colored magic marker.

I use colored nail polish on their back nails, too. With two teen girls in the house, I have a great variety to choose from. :dance

If you want to keep their names straight, make sure you write them down w/ their color. Mine often become 'blue boy' and 'green girl' over time. :grin3 Sometimes I don't even remember what their original name was! :hidechair

I have been using the nail polish, but they seem to be wearing it off after a couple of days. It's really time consuming to have to repaint 9 babies about a month and a half old. :jump:confused:

Did you try the Sharpie dot on their tummies?

Trying to think of an easy system? :thinking

What kind of caging are they in? Are they all sharing one enclosure? That's A LOT of babies in one. It would make it easier if they were in two because you can tape their chart to the outside, and you only need 3 or 4 colors.

Say they're in two:

Each bin (assuming you have 2):

First boy and first girl need no color
Boy #2 and Girl# 3 same color
Extra baby- different color

So you can narrow it down to 2-3 colors if they're in separate enclosures, and 4 need no color at all. If they're all together, it's going to be hard!
I've never had that many babies at once! :bowdown

I only have one inside cage for them :sadness. So each has their own color. But males are left rear foot and females are right rear foot. And they are in a wire cage.
:grouphug Thanks to all for the help.
