I just got this baby--maybe 6 to 8 weeks old. The people who brought him said three boys had him in a box at a gas station. They asked if the folks could take him as they had dogs. He must have fallen on his nose. It's swollen, bloody and he's sneezing a lot. Can I give him some prednisone to help with the swelling? I also have Meloxicam. Should I crank up the vaporizer? He's so pitiful. I put him in with a little girl I got earlier from animal control. That poor baby was found in a parking deck downtown. They're about the same age. I'm glad they're not alone. Little scared babies need comfort.

I wouldn't go with anything as "heavy duty" as the Prednisone yet.
Perhaps Meloxicam will do the trick, its good for swelling and pain.
Do you need help with dosing?
So glad they found their way to you!

Poor little baby. :sniff If the nose doesn't get better soon you might want to reach out to jbtartell. She has a little one with an X-ray confirmed broken nose. She might be able to share some tips. Her baby has a VERY swollen nose and difficulty breathing.

I have had many like that with bloody, swollen noses. I usually just carefully clean all the blood I can out of their nose and reclean it if there is anymore bleeding. Usually in a day or two the swelling goes down on its own and it is pretty much healed. I give no meds for this!
