My poor girl had a seizure around 9:30 am. She was out of it for about 10 minutes. I got some calcium in her thru a syringe and cranberry juice. I couldn't find any molasses when I was freaking out and she wouldn't take it with water. She wouldn't let go of me and was shivering for about 30 minutes. I gave her another dose of calcium in 100% cranberry juice. Argh.... I will treat it as MBD but I am very good with her diet and she gets her blocks and veggies every day. Looking at her now, you can't even tell she had a seizure. She looks completely normal.
I will continue the MBD treatment. My husband just got a puppy and at the time he was over at her cage and I was scolding him to get away as she hates him. I thought she was running around her cage upset until I saw her drop to the floor and lay there with her head bobbing. What a horrible feeling. I'm not sure what else to do....

She also has been suffering with a bacterial ear infection. I forgot what bacteria the vet said it was, but it is very hard to kill. I've been doing ear washes and medicine with her now for weeks. I wish she could catch a break.

I also have a baby that had a "seizure" after being frightened by a dog and from what I was told
her reaction sounded the same as what you describe. If stress and fear can stop a human heart
it would stand to reason it could effect these babies as well resulting in seizure.

I agree. Flyers are notorious for seizing due to a sudden fright. I remember someone telling me her grey squirrel seized when she entered the room and turned the light on. I think the puppy would have definitely been enough to trigger a seizure. I wouldn't think that MBD is necessarily involved here but it's always good to consider it.

Poor baby!

She is a grey and not a flyer. I'll have to do better with the dog. She is not afraid of them and my little one ignores her and runs from her when she is out.
The puppy wasn't even jumping on her cage just sniffing under it. But that's usually enough to upset her these days. Guess I'll try baby gate around her cage also.
Sadly that was the most lovins I had from her in awhile as she is not a cuddler. But I was too scared to enjoy it. I'm keeping an eye on her. Dogs are outside and she is running around the house like nothing happened. :Love_Icon :Love_Icon

I know... It's just something that flyers do and greys can too. :)
