Interesting Day taking two squirrels into the vets we had to make two runs since we worry about Lucky being contagious

Gizmo First

He is such a good little boy, no one was in the vets so I took him out of his cage and he sat so nicely on my shoulder. Got his butt rubbed by the Techs, he just soaked up the attention LOL. We go into see the vet and He was so good! Nothing major going on with him vet thinks a fight HOWEVER the Doc thinks he might not be releasable given his temperament. We did discuss neutering but again the vet said lets wait and see what the next 6/8 months bring. If Gizmo hasn't come into his *squirrel attitude* ( ie acting like a two year old jacked up on sugar with no parental supervision) then we might discuss it again.

Run home grab another cage and Lucky back to the vets.

Urine is clean sugar, PH, all good.

Poop - Well we just are not sure. It looks clean but it has been sent out to be tested for parasites and cultured We should know about the parasites tomorrow however he is worried about Coccidia so Lucky is on Albon Suspension and we might put her on Baytril tomorrow. We shall see. She acts healthy has a good weight (250 grams) and is a crazy squirrel. We added back her food veggies kale and HHB, but also keep her on the water to keep her hydrated.

Thats it, after my busy weekend of animals we now have at least some answers and I even feel reassured about Gizmo for it is not my imagination, he is like a soft cuddly teddy bear that happens to like his butt scratched and ears rubbed.

Again, (as I know I have said this many times :)) someone was sure watching out for Gizmo when he found his way to you.
I have seen squirrels pushed out before, and it doesn't end well. :sniff
They know what they want, and what they don't.
It's up to us to know them well enough. Gizmo spoke, and you listened. :hug

I hope that little Lucky gets straighted out soon. Glad you have a vet and it will be interesting
to see what the fecal tells you. Please keep us posted.
