What age can start bath time? One of my 3 groups are roughly 5 weeks. Weighing between 90 and 110 grams. 3 of them. I just noticed on one of them her eyes are starting to open but barely. Ive had this group roughly 5 days and they stink. They have since i got them. When can i start bath time?

Are you feeding 100% Esbilac? I don't give baths at all unless there is some particularly messy incident like diarrhea.

I do a 50/50 mix with esbilac and fox valley on all the babies. I have a total of 9 ranging from 35 to 110 grams. They're all doing good and the smallest 6 have been to the vet and she im doing good. Got these 3 after that. But when i say stink they smell really bad. Like pee pretty much. This is my first time with squirrels and never had anything smell like this. They are current in a smaller starlite contain with air holes in it. Going to move them tomorrow to a slightly larger one because they are very active. Not going to put anything they can climb on for another week or so until they are more stable... but yea the smell.....

Oh man...last year I had a crew I called the "stinky pinkies"! Once I got them out of the plastic container and into a small cage that I kept covered with fleece to hold in the heat and on a heating pad. That took the "stinky" out of those pinkies!:grin3

Do you stimulate them after feedings? How old are they?
Even if old enough to go on their own, they are still in that "baby" stage and
stimulating after being fed helps to keep their quarters (and them) cleaner.

Yes i stimulate. These guys i go through like 3 or 4 cottonballs each when i do lol. I stimulate until nothing else comes out. Poop looks normal that golden yellowish color. Pee looks normal. I dont really smell if when i stimulate but man oh man these lil guys are stinky. I have two other groups (3 each) close enough in age i have them all together and they smell nothing like this. Nelly Busta and Chester, the stinky group, are roughly 5 weeks old. Nellys eyes are starting to open.

I seriously had dozens and one group smelled awful...:eek
a cage with a fleece cover half on the heating pad did the trick. Give it a try.

It won't hurt to bath them with a little Dawn. We do it all the time for fleas. Just make sure you dry them well. I use a towel and then paper towels to absorb the last of the water. :serene
