Hey Guys,
Quick question...Is desitin ointment okay to use on my Little Nork? He seems to have a diaper rash in his inner legs. Let me know

Thanks

No, don't use anything with zinc in it.
Derma-Gel is a great alternative, but I think you
can only find it on line. :(

UGH, I'm really am not sure.
Most likely he can groom himself there so I just wanted to make sure
he wouldn't ingest something that could harm him. :dono

Let me direct SammysMom to this thread for her opinion.

Sorry. I just messaged SammysMom so hopefully she can shed some light on
something OTC that would be safe. :imp :tilt

I've used Desitin but only where it couldn't be licked. A&d Ointment is good and easy to come by but Dermagel is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. Be sure to bathe the area before putting anything on it. I've also used Gold Bond to make sure skin was dry--also for a non licker.

A & D is what was used on a squirrel who had urine burn because of his paralysis. Clean the area and dry it carefully then apply the A & D to the area.:grouphug

So if he happens to lick the A &D he should be fine? Im not sure he will lick it but want to make sure if he does he will not be hurt. When I have any lotion on my hands he refuses to be on me.

Thank you Nancy, I really do appreciate it...Poor Nork I know he is getting annoyed with me, spreading his legs looking at it.

If I am not mistaken, the older version of the A&D doesn't have zinc. I think I am right about that, but I will text someone I believe knows.

Well, I got a response from SSM and she said the A&D ointment doesn't have zinc oxide, but that it will clog pores...:shakehead
She said for a rash, use cornstarch. :thumbsup

"Oh the humiliation!!!" Poor little bub...that looks sore. A little cornstarch might go a long way to dry that up. :grouphug
