Not Liking someone he used to...

My squirrel, Nibbles, a couple weeks ago suddenly stopped wanting anything to do with my wife. It's now where only I can handle him. He freaks out if she comes near his cage. If she tries to hold him, he mehr mehrs til he chirps and even escalated to chattering. Is there a way to get him cool with her again? O_o

Well, sadly, most of the time squirrels choose one human and that is that. THey can be downright nasty to everyone else. Your wife can try just ignoring the nastiness, but giving space and trying to give treats that the squirrel really loves. Is this a gray or a flyer?

:yeahthat Bonding is unpredictable. Is there any chance that she's using a new fragrance- shampoo, soap, perfume- or new clothes. Squirrels can be resistant to change. Apart from gloves, it might be an idea to note what she's wearing on a 'good day' and set aside those as 'squirrel-owned'. :)

Get a sweatshirt with a hood and pouch.
You wear that.
Put a few fragmented treats in the pouch.
Play with nibbles in the pouch.
After a few weeks of nibbles really knowing that shirt, ( don't wash it. Keep it scented from nibbles ), after a few weeks, or at least a week, swap shirts with your wife.
She should be near you, like glued at the hip when you are interacting and playing with nibbles.
She should also wear gloves, scarves and glasses just to be sure.
