I have done my research about animal rehabilitation. And eventually once I get my own house with land I am wanting to be a wild animal rehabilitator! (Quite a few years down the road) I graduate this year from high school. I know I am pretty dang young. But I absolutely love animals! I'm going to college to major in animal science then go on to vet school to become a veterinarian. I'd love to get some more animal experience under my belt so I can apply it to things later in life and work towards my goals and I figured what better way than to volunteer! I myself have two dogs, a cat, a squirrel, and two rats. I've had quite a few animals and would love to volunteer somewhere and help out with more. I'd like to volunteer with a rehabilitator but I'm up for anywhere and any type of animals. I will have to wait till after my 18th birthday (which is in march) to do anything cause I will be getting a car then. I'm in flint michigan and an willing to go a little ways to help out!

Welcome to TSB! Until your 18th, maybe you could volunteer at a shelter or rescue? I know down here you can start at 16. Then you've got some experience you can share with a local rehabber that you might be able to volunteer with. I'd start by contacting everyone in your area!! I know how hard it is being young - most people don't take you seriously at all. I'm a little bit older than you, but still am not taken seriously. You've just got to push through the negativity and learn all that you can :)
