Petey and Pablo are currently in their double story Critter Nation. They are 15 and 16 weeks old, respectively.
They mostly hangout in the top level of the cage, and ignore the bottom level for the most part. I have read that some take out the middle floor/ceiling section of the cage to make it one large cage. Is that suggested and if so, when is the appropriate time to do that? I don't think they would hurt themselves at this point. They are very agile and nimble now.
Also, when (age wise) should I expect to have to separate them in different cages altogether? They get along fabulously now, playing so much and sleeping together every night. The only issue arises when Pablo has finished a nut/treat and Petey is still finishing his. Pablo will steal from Petey and Petey is too sweet to fight back. So, during treat time, I separate them.
Also, Petey and Pablo have been together since they were 5 and 6 weeks.
Thanks for your advice!
