I'm planning to get my rehabber's license within the next year, Lord willing, & last weekend I took the Intro to Rehabbing class that my state requires for this. I was just going through the materials/manual, & I while there was a lot of great info, it did not contain any kind of dosing charts for the meds that are typically recommended on here. They just said to consult your veterinarian to administer meds. Maybe it's because Category 1 rehabbers technically aren't supposed to be taking in sick or injured animals....but I've been on here long enough to know that in real life, we encounter that all the time, even if the animal was healthy upon intake!

So, my question is, where do I get ahold of dosing charts for things like Baytril, Metacam, Clavamox, Benadryl, even baby ibuprofen? Are they in some of the suggested books for rehabbers? Or do you get charts from your vet? Or use rat/guinea pig charts? When I google such charts, they don't give any info for squirrels, just dogs/cats. I was totally expecting to have them in my materials from the state & am dismayed to be as uninformed about this now as before I went to the training! I just so desperately want to be prepared so I can be as much of a help as possible.

"Wild Mammal Babies, the first 48 Hrs & Beyond" is our Bible and has excellent dosing charts.

Aah, terrific IR! I already ordered it last week, just hasn't arrived yet. Was hoping it would be someplace like that. Thank you!
