Hello. I have a 8 month old squirrel. She likes her nuts and such, and I regurally check her teeth, so that she stays healthy. But today I noticed something odd (at least for me), I wasn't really expecting this.

So I checked her teeth, and they look normal color, yellowish. But here's the part that surprised me:
Behing her upper 2 teeth, there is another pair of what seems like newly grown, still white teeth. Do squirrels have 4 upper teeth in 2 rows??
She eats normally, hasn't changed her behaviour or anything. I can post a picture later, because I can't take it myself, someone has to hold her.

She shows her teeth normal as usual, no struggle.

Please explain this to me I'm kinda freaked out!

Thanks guys

Sooo.. Noone knows anything? Also, after further inspection I noticed that maybe it's not a separate set of teeth, it's just that the front teeth are somewhat "divided". I can't really explain, but it's like the leter A. They are joined on the top and get a little divided towards the end. The back part "the back set" is still white in color. Do all squirrels have teeth like this?265340

So if you look at this photo, the part of the upper teeth that is white. With our squirrel that part is a little further apart on the end from the yellow part. Theres like a tiny gap between the two ends, by gap I mean exactly like the letter A. Conjoined at the beginning and gap at the end. I can't really explain it any better, shes not still long enough for the photo.

That does not sound normal. Squirrels have two top incisors, each tooth is distinct from each other. The can move these teeth around like chopsticks (they are not fixed solidily in one position). Can you post a picture of your squirrels teeth?
