Rylee has started itching a lot! At first I was worried about fleas because she does spend some time outside. So I got Revolution for her from our vet. But she is still itching. Her fur and skin look normal, but she just itches a lot. And she loves it when I rub her little ears. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Sometimes if a parasite a second dose is needed...

What are you washing her laundry in?
Many detergents are not suitable for squirrels and have been known
to cause excessive itching. Scented /fragrant detergents are a big no.
I wash all my baby's laundry in Dawn original dish soap. The few times
I had forgotten and used my regular detergent didn't take long for me
to realize my mistake. My regular detergent is not scented either but
still effects her as far as scratching herself to death.

Another thing that can cause excessive itching is climate if it's too dry
but you should be able to tell that by the appearance of her skin.

If it's something mundane like dry skin, I've had good success with coconut oil. A fully-furred squirrel wouldn't benefit much from a coconut oil rub-down (picturing a greased squirrel zinging around my house!), but I've given my boy a pecan (his favorite) dipped in coconut oil & rolled in calcium bicarbonate once a day since he was weaned, & he loves them! No more itchies, & he used to spend a good deal of his time scratching just from dry skin. I keep a little container of nuts in coconut oil/calcium powder in my fridge, since coconut oil melts at room temp--less messy that way. Every night I just take off the lid with Jazzy sitting on my shoulder, & he selects his night-nut & eats it on top of the fridge. Licks his fingers clean of the oil when he's finished, & he smells like a little coconut afterwards!

Hope your sweetie gets some relief one way or another.

I wash all of her stuff in a Free Detergent. Im not sure if its because she is outside more often now, and the air is cooler than in the house?

Do you see any irritation, redness, insect bite marks, hair loss, crusty/flaky skin at this point? i know you originally said that you could not see any visual symptoms (other than the scratching behavior) but I wonder if anything has changed?

Nothing is different. And her skin looks normal with no hair loss. She usually only itches right behind her little arms.

I would wait a month from the initial revolution treatment and then try a second one. Consider changing soaps and detergents. Lennysmom had a problem with some odd hair loss on her squirrel and it went away completely after switching hand creams.
