Echinacea Recommendations Please!

I want to provide my wild pet squirrels with immune boosters, but have never done so before and am confused about what to purchase and how much to give them. Can anyone provide links to exact products you would recommend? I would feel much better using something that has worked well for someone else. Thanks in advance!


(What has prompted this, is that I noticed a sneezing squirrel on my balcony. They all share water, so I am concerned and want to help them all stay healthy. The weather is also about ready to get much colder and I am hoping that this will not take a turn for the worst.)

I used (1) capsule like this: http://www.gnc.com/GNC-Herbal-Plus-Echinacea-Extract-500mg/product.jsp?productId=19037946&cp=11516182.45670766.12953615.2109023 per gallon in my watering bowls when I had pox in the area. I used a store brand, not GNC, at the 500mg size. The squirrels drank the water as eagerly as they did with nothing in it.

However, it promotes algae and I am sure other bacterial growth in the water. I was doing this over the summer and I started to dump the water and refill at mid-day. My scrubbed cement birdbath would have a green tinge at the end of a single day! So you can't just dump and refill the bowl - you need to give it a quick scrub daily too. This time of year you won't have the algae issue but you will have to clean the residue from the water bowl daily.
