I have a 1year old female squirrel. She is on the recommended diet has an amazing age with lots to do but when I let her out for playtime she only wants to be cuddled and pet. Sometimes for an hour straight. My hand is getting very tired. She will put my finger on her cheek, belly, ECT. She will squeak if I stop. I'm just concerned she isn't getting enough exercise if all she wants is to be held and rubbed. Does anyone else have this issue? Thanks.

not a professional here, but I would have to say be grateful she sounds like a very special sweet girl. it could all change one never knows so enjoy being loved by a squirrel its one of the most special things that can happen to a person. I myself have not felt that kind of love from another type of animal, squirrels are magical. Rexies Mom

Hiiiiii....thank you for coming to TSB!

I am GUESSING THAT YOUR girl is a Grey Squirrel? Sorry to be a witch, but my thought is that she is imprinted and not properly fed. Blast me, if I am wrong. I have a girlie here that is evil. thanks to kids over handling and being fed nuts, apple cider and corn flakes.

Well she eats the hhb. Plus all kinds of fruits and vegetables. So I think I'm giving her all the nutrition she needs. She looks and acts healthy as can be. I only give her almonds as a treat. Along with walnuts as well. I love that she is so affectionate. If I try to play with her she hops around and then jumps into my hand and wants to cuddle. She eats lots of colored veggies. I'm lucky she is not a picky eater. Thanks for the input. Much appreciated. Still learning as I go.

All animals have different temperaments. Although a lot of squirrels might want to be in the trees, etc. this one may enjoy what she has and doesn't know what she is missing.

Enjoy the time you have with this sweet girl, and as long as she is healthy (and not fat) I wouldn't worry.
In my eight years of rehabbing I have yet to find a squirrel that hasn't wanted to rip my hand off once
they past the six month mark........ for them that's not a bad thing, but for me that's another story.

Oh, I'd be very sad if my little guy turned on me and wanted to rip my hand off. That sounds very sad
