Hi I rescued little girl 3 wks ago. She is now about 10 wks old. When I first got her she would let me weigh her but now she does not want to get on the scale and she doesn't want to be still. She is a handful! Lol I was putting her in the plastic bin that she first stayed in before moving to her new cage but now she panics if I try to put her in the bin. How do you all weigh your babies? And I know they are wild but was also wondering if they ever quit being so skiddish? She let's me hold her and rub her. She also loves it when I sing to her but any different move or sound then she freaks out for a few seconds. Do they ever calm down any? I let her out of her cage everyday for at least an hour. My husband cut down some oak trees and we cleaned them up and made her a small jungle in a small empty room. She loves it and climbs all over up and down! She is a sweet mess!

I personally use a small pet carrier to weigh older squirrels when necessary.
They don't like it either but they do get over it....
Some do calm down and get used to everyday noises but it is a natural survival instinct
for a squirrel to stay on high alert to sounds they may deem threatening.
