Dibs is between 5-6 weeks. Eating well, gaining weight on Fox valley day one 20/50. Today straining to defecate. Very hard bowel movement. I celebrate the solid stool, but it seems uncomfortable for him. I have read on posts to use coconut oil, sweet potato baby food..... Anyone have experience to share?

Use some apple juice in water. Apples juice contains pectin and this will help draw water into the "gut" making the stools softer.
Keep hydrating in between feeding.
How much does your little one weigh, and how much are you feeding, and how often?
You are mixing the FV 1 part dry formula to 2 parts water, correct?

I am NOT a rehabber, but in addition to the above, I think I read somewhere on here that dipping him in warm water up to his chest and gently massaging under the arms down the sides can help with this. Again, I am NOT an expert, maybe someone can confirm?

I will try the apple juice diluted in water. Is a 50/50 apple/water ratio best? Of course I will be sure to get real juice.
He weighed 113 grams yesterday. I feed every 4 hours now and he consumes from 7-9cc per feeding.
Yes, I am mixing FV 1:2.
Thank you for the apple juice advice!:clap
