Hi, all! So another baby came into the shelter today. She was found by some college girls yesterday who took her straight to the vet (they all pulled their money to pay for it) and the vet gave them KMR. They fed her regularly until they brought her to us this afternoon. They said she had either a bloody nose or mouth (I can't see any injury) and that she had milk come out of her nose a few times when they fed her with a dropper (see pic). I already bugged Nancy about her privately (thank you, Nancy!) so I'm going to go ahead and start her on SMZ TP.
Her eyes are open, has her bottom teeth in and top have cut through but she is only 70g. That seems really small to me although she doesn't look malnourished to me and seems quite healthy. Thoughts?
Thanks so much!

I'm always happy to help. :hug
What great girls to have pooled their money to get her to a vet.
I do wonder if the blood they saw was from her teething. This seems
like the age where that sort of thing is noticed.
She is tiny! :)
That second photo of her is just PRECIOUS and I think
you should have posted a warning before posting it:
CUTENESS OVERLOAD!

Hi, all! Thumper is doing really well. She is eating like a piglet and up to 100 grams. She is way more active, awake more and even did some nibbling on a raw shelled peanut tonight.
Since she is a singleton, I know she needs more squirrel siblings. I currently have a litter of 1.5 week old rescue pups (see pic...so sweet!) so I am not in a position to take on more squirrels right now.
I contacted a rehabber in the area on Friday that said she would take her but it's now late Sunday and she has been very slow to respond when trying to make arrangements for me to bring her over. I never got a return call today at all. This could be that she is just really busy or overwhelmed with babies herself, so no worries!
In case it doesn't work out with this rehabber, does anyone have contact for one in or near Fayetteville, NC? If not, I'm sure I can find help around Raleigh just trying to avoid the drive if there is someone closer. Thanks so much!
