Well about 3-4 wks ago i noticed all Rosie would eat was nuts and seeds, she began to act very violently towards my wife and daughter attacking there feet, and we had no idea what it was until we read about mbd and sum of her symptoms were similar, so we gave her tums while we were waiting for the package from henrys.com to arrive, we started her on the blocks but since shes such a picky eater she wouldnt eat them str8 up, so what I did was mixed 3 blocks with the calcium, vitamins and also sum peanut butter since she loves that taste. but she started to gain alot of weight in just a few days, i stopped feeding her so much of the peanut butter and she was starting to improve but she is still atatcking my daughter, sort of like bullying her. And now for the past few days she has started sleeping probably 20 hours a day and when she is awake she is sad and depressed sort of like she is sick, so i was hoping someone on here might be able to help us and get our chipmunk back to her normal loving self. All help is welcomed and i hope i explained everything well enough.

I have never kept chippies but I have a ton of them on my property that I support. You have something else thrown into the mix that you need to account for with them and that is the seasonal hibernation. It is far too early for that right now but I wonder how much of her behavior is due to the upcoming winter.

We don't have a lot of chippie owners that post here, unfortunately. They are commonly kept as pets in the UK though - I wonder if there are any online groups there who could give you better info?

How's you chippy doing, I have a chippy too that's about 6 months old and she just started acting a lot different too. She's sleeping way more and not eating nearly as much as she use to, I also thought maybe she is sick. I wonder if hibernation has something to do with it. Not too many resources for pet chipmunks so I'm trying to get some answers too.
