My husbands friend rescued 3 babies. Mother was killed. The rescue centers were full. 2 past and he asked me to try to save the last one. He was feeding him human baby formula. I switched to the esbilac and did one day of glucose water to re-hydrate him.
I got him and he was 89 grams. Hes now 130 grams. I got him on August 27th. I need help with aging him. I think hes still really under weight. Any tips on getting him pulper would be awesome! Also I think I was over feeding him, hes always sooo hungry. Hes been constipated and his poop was light grey. I gave him a grape to help him go potty which it worked but hes still a little backed up. I am about to go get some apple juice.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Extra hydration - even plain water - in between feedings can help, too.
At 130 grams, he should be eating between 7-9cc per feeding. How much do you feed, how often, and how are you mixing his formula? Are you using the powdered esbilac or the liquid?

He was eating 15 ml a feeding, but now I cut back to 7. Hes always so hungry! The powdered formula. I was doing water inbetween but now hes not taking the water. Hes super active and seems like hes healthy just want to fix the constipation before he bloats. I stopped feedings until I see poop.

Can anyone tell me what they think is his age? I was guessing 8 weeks but I'm a first time squirrel momma lol!

He's at least eight weeks, possibly 9.
How often do you feed and are you feeding him any rodent block?

Be very careful giving grapes, they need to be peeled and the white center taken out.
Squirrels can easily choke on grapes, so most of us don't feed them. :thumbsup

I haven't added the rodent blocks because he's so under weight. He's only 130 grams. I feed him every 4-6 hours. Depending on how hungry he is. He's always hungry!

OK thanks! Didn't know that. Thankfully he takes super tiny bites and he takes forever to get it!

I agree on the 9 weeks. You will need to start introducing solid food and rodent block is the best thing he can eat. You can also get Henry's Health Blocks which are just as good (you will want him to always have rodent block in the cage, so he can eat it whenever he wants). The Rodent Block has all he needs for nutrition and they do actually like it (once they get used to it). Fruits and veggies are also a good thing to start working on, but make sure you are using the dietary triangle (can someone link it for her here?). Some veggies are like poison (bell peppers are a good example) and some are just plain good for them. From the looks of him, I think he is pretty healthy. To work on the constipation, you can feed him apple juice. That gets the water flowing in his bowels and will help to unbind him. :grin2
