Ann and April came to me at about 4 weeks old, they are now 11 weeks. They are on solid food but still taking formula when I offer it to them.

I am starting to think though that I may not be the best person at this time to release them, when the time comes. The squirrels are my first priority, but studying, school, work, and my other critters take up the remainder of my time. I have also moved back home for a special opportunity at school, so I am not living with Josh on his wonderful perfect-for-squirrels property. Here, my parents have 4 cats living outside and I know that would be terrible for the squirrels as they acclimate to the outdoors. When I was living here before, I would just go with the squirrels up to my grandparents for a few weeks, but again, with my time limitations, that's not really an option. Josh could take them, but I hate to push such a big commitment on him, especially when he has limited experience.

The main thing I'm getting at is I think I would like to transfer them to another rehabber for the acclimation and release stages of their life. I am perfectly happy to transport and to sponsor their food and any equipment. Would any fellow rehabbers in central FL be willing to take them? I will find a way to do it all myself if need be, it is certainly not life or death. I am just thinking it is something to look into as I think it might be in Ann and April's best interest.

I am asking here because, after the fiasco with Karen Clarke, I'd really like them to go to someone from TSB. I'm a little wary of rehabbers I don't know now.

We are in St. Pete and might be able to help. We will be helping another rehabber here to release her 2 boys in the next month or so and our 5 around the same time. I will be putting the 5 we have outside in the cage they are currently in inside. Her 2 boys will have to go in the other release cage I think. I'm waiting on a call from her today actually about her boys so I will really have a better idea of when we will be getting them. If Ann and April were to be released here around that same time do you think they'd get along with her 2 boys in the same cage. I had another large bird cage out there I was using for release but I donated it to some very nice bird folks or really needed it. I didn't really like it for the squirrels anyways.

I see you had/have a Sansa and Arya. I had a Sansa she was released. My Arya is NR. :grin3
