We found two baby mice, furred, eyes closed. I'm not home and I need to know what to feed them. Is the goat milk/yogurt/cream formula a good choice until I get to my FV (the one I have if for squees after 4 weeks). If so, what is the recipe? I have very limited internet access on my phone. Babies look healthy and have probably been without their more for more than 24 hours. I was thinking of feeding them the hydration liquid. Again, I don't have the recipe...
Thanks for help, will try to post picture.

Could someone please post the recipe for honeade pedialite? I'm trying to find it in the forum, but it's difficult with my very limited internet on the phone. Thanks

Stores are closed....went to check the fridge...we have 35 % cream and milk
Tried to feed homemade pedialite, but we have no syringe, trying with a tiny paintbrush, but no great success

A quality paintbrush is fine to feed; however, cow milk should never be used because mouse bubs cannot digest it properly. I PMd you a sheet with some alternatives until you can get the proper formula. Hopefully you will have one of them.
Thank you for caring. Please do not hesitate to ask me any Qs if you think I might be of any help. There are also other mouse folks on here that have cared for little ones.

Thank you for your reply. We were able to go to the drugstore and grocery store and got the ingredients for the goat's milk formula. My sister (who went to the store) was not able to get a syringe, so she got an dropper with a curved tip. Not ideal, but I was able to feed the babies. I guess my brain was very serious about taking care of these guys, as I woke up every two hours to feed them :)
I'm going home today, so I'll be able to weight them and feed them with a nippled-tip syringe. They are so tiny, it's not easy to feed them.
I potty them after every feeding. One of them pees on cue, but not the other. I'm not worried since the paper towels at the bottom of their incubator (a plastic strawberry container that has holes)has yellow stains. As soon as I get home, I plan to transform it into a fleece palace!
When I pick them up for feeding, I always take some time rubbing their tiny bodies with a damp paper towel... To clean them and to make sure they have no fleas. Then I feed one ( or try to feed), potty, pick the second one, rub, feed, potty and repeat with both of them. When i feed them, if I'm lucky, their tiny mouth will be open, and I am able to put a drop of formula in. I then wait for them to sip/swallow and I do it again. I hope I'm doing this right.
I really appreciate your help. I'll keep posting to let you know what happens. Thank you very much for the info you sent.

You are doing a fantastic job! You definitely know what you are doing. I know it is hard to use the dropper since they are laying on their tummies when you feed them, but the non-needle syringe should make things a little bit easier for you when you get home. Thank you for the update, and again, thank you for caring.

Ok, I'm home.
I weighed them and they are 5 g each, after being fed. It was much easier to feed with the syringe and nipple, but the nipple is quite big for their little mouths.
This morning, I saw tiny bubbles coming from the nose of the smallest one. She did make the little click sound, so I'm worried she might have aspirated. As soon as I saw the bubble, I put her upside down and wiped her\his nose. I listened for sounds during this feeding, but I didn't hear anything. Should I be worried?
Since they are living in a strawberry container, their names are Fraise and Mangue, which mean Strawberry and Mango in French.
I'm in the process of making them a fleece palace/incubator. Mangue still pees on cue, but Fraise, the smaller one, does not. However their paper towels have little yellow stains, so I'm not worried yet. I think that I will put paper towels in the incubator so I can check.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks Lovesmice for all your help.
I have a question about health issues. Are mice vectors of something that could be harmful to Merlin (my free-range didn't want to live outside red squirrel who is now like a very little cat) or Steve (my rabbit)?
I wash my hands after I handle the little dudes, just in case. Every time I handle them, I look for fleas and I've not found any. I also gently rub them with a warm paper towel, which I think might feel like their mum licking them.

As long as she is no longer making any sounds I would not worry. Keep an ear open, of course, but it sounds like the formula bubble had no ill effect upon her. As far as diseases, Wild mice can get the same problems any Domestic animal allowed to go outside can get or any Wild rodent can get; however, because of their age anything serious would kill them long before they could pass it on and anything minor is easily treated. I think it is good you wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling them, though, to be on the safe side. I would also have on hand a large t-shirt to put over your clothes or a robe you can easily take on and off for use specifically and only when handling them. I am super paranoid about mites which is mainly why I do this, but it is a good idea to do as an extra precaution in general when you have other animals. (I stress I am NOT saying your mice have mites or anything for that matter; just that I cover my clothes for the same reasons as I wash my hands before and after handling Wilds.)
I am glad to hear they are doing better on the syringes you have, but if you are concerned the nipples are still too large for their mouths, I can send you some smaller non-needle, non-nipple syringes. Just PM me your address and I can ship them out in the AM.
I love the names: Fraise and Mangue. How adorable, and how clever to use them in French.
