Ideas to clean balcony where squirrels eat after re-roofing?

I like to feed squirrels on my balcony by just tossing some nuts onto the balcony itself. I like having nuts scattered around instead of in a dish because I believe it's healthier than having them all share a bowl.

This week our roof is getting new tiles and the old tiles removed first. Lots of dust, potential asbestos. My idea is to sweep (while wearing a mask) and then wipe the balcony off with water or water and activated charcoal if asbestos dissolves. Both are imperfect solutions.

How would you handle this clean up? Any ideas for safe feeding once the roof is finished?

The best thing to do is wash with water. I wouldn't sweep as the dust particles will fill the air and could cause problems for you.

I'd spread a tarp out to catch the bulk of it,
I think it would be an easier clean up.
