Hi all,

I just found myself with a rescue and the last one I had was almost 5 years ago! I've been doing some quick, quick research to remind myself what I'm doing! Right now I'm feeding the little guy, who I think is around 6 weeks old, Esbilac, but plan on getting Fox Valley which is what I used before. That said, I'm wondering if this guy is okay to stay on the Esbilac since it'll only be for 4 weeks +/-. What are your thoughts on that? My last rescue was younger and not anywhere close to solids so I thought it very important to get on the Fox Valley.

Would love some input...thanks!
Jen

Things have kind of changed. FV did some changes and everyone started losing babies, especially the bitty ones - not digesting the formula. At the same time, Esbilac changed THEIR formula for the better (the powdered ONLY - not the liquid in a can esbilac). Lots of people use esbilac straight through. Some do a 50/50 mix of the FV 25/50 and Esbilac for older babies if they feel they aren't gaining properly. Regardless, there is no screaming rush to switch from the esbilac for now.

Thanks, CritterMom, for letting me know! It seemed like I was reading that a lot more folks were using the Esbilac powder, so I'm glad to hear that's the right way to go right now.

I've only had this guy for 24 hours, but he seems like he's doing really well. He fell about 20-25' onto asphalt, and had a little nose injury, but that seems like it's going to be okay, too. Sadly, his little brother didn't survive the fall. :(
