We just found out neigbors cat carrying this poor baby past our back door. The skin on its back is torn about 3"across. Is there a rehabber near Teaneck, NJ that can help me! What do I do for wound and general care. The baby is awake and alert but still.

Do you have a weight?
What meds do you have?
I am unclear on if baytril can be used on rabbits? I suspect it can but don't quote me on that.

I don't have a gram scale. I'm guessing one pound. Where can I get baytril

It's squinting/drooping its right eye, almost like its going to sleep, but only the right eye.

We put a few drops of diluted hydrogen peroxide on its wound.

We put it in a plastic tub with some Natural Bedding (wild harvest brand) which is a bedding made from Kapok tree seeds made for rodents. It's buried itself under this.

Yes bunnies can take Baytril.
That bunny is old enough to be on its own so it is free feeding. Go out into your yard (hopefully you don't treat it with chemicals) and pull up some grasses, weeds, dandelion, etc. Huge hand fulls of it...like a pile twice the size of the rabbit at least and give them to the bunny.
You can also wet them down in water and it will serve as hydration for the bunny.
Hydrogen peroxide is not good for anything, especially open wounds. Please flush the wound with Saline - even contact lens saline will work.
Bunnies are super high stress so the less contact you have with it the better. NO HEAT!!! Dark and quiet is best.

The wound has been flushed with saline and we're trying to contact a rehabber.

we found a rehabber that specializes in bunnies. She wants us to take her to the vet in Frankin Lakes NJ in the morning to have the wound glued shut. She will pick up the bunny from there.

:thumbsup Perfect! :thumbsup
When you drop the bunny off at the vet, please remember to tell them that it was a cat attack. Cat attacks on bunny's require antibiotics. Just don't want the info to get lost in the shuffle with the drop off and the vet and the pick up. It's really that important!!
Great job!!
