I have a male and female that I estimate to be 8 weeks old (Jiggy and Coconut). I have had them since they were 2 weeks old when they fell out of a 50 foot palm tree in my yard during a storm. I have done a great amount of research to keep these babies alive and healthy. My concern is that I have witnessed them fighting a few times. It usually starts with the female trying to suck on the male. The male resists and then the fight is on. They roll around the cage in a ball and sometimes let out a squeak when someone might get a little bite or scratch. I have seen no physical injury and after this happens they often curl up and go back to sleep. How concerned should I be about this behavior? I would hate to separate them.

:wave123 StPete, we have several members in your area.
I wouldn't be concerned about 8 week olds at all. They are playing. They are much like kittens at that age. :grin2
Get them some small stuffed animals. They love to play and roll with them.
I would not separate them. They will need each other when they are released.
As long as the female doesn't suck on his 'boy parts' it's OK. At that age he can take care of himself. The concern is when tiny babies suck on each other's parts :embar and cause serious damage.

Thank you. I was leaning toward just letting them be but didn't want to make a mistake.
