Water bottle

Was wondering if I need to go ahead and put a water bottle in the cage with them? They are 6 weeks old. Also do I need to put something under it on the inside of the cage?

Once my guys start nibbling on solids, I put a water bottle in with them (or a very shallow dish with marbles in it to prevent drowning). Most of mine won't touch the water until they are eating approx 50% solid foods but I prefer to be on the same side.
