Ok so all 3 of mine are chewing and starting to bite on things. Can I give them a piece of deer antler or something similar? Have the antler and have access to live oak wood. Looking for something to give them a little teething help. One has found the plastic clip on a hat that I have in there. The first 2 pics. A few scratches but noting else. The 3rd is of the antler I have. I know I will have to cut it.

Deer antlers are good and provide extra calcium. :thumbsup Live oak is also a good choice for chew toys. You can give them a good size branch, leaves and all and they will have a ball with it. :)

You can even give them small pieces of untreated pine lumber. The soft wood is pretty satisfying, since they can really shred the heck out of it.

Should I cut the antler into smaller pieces or can I just put the whole thing in there? My main concern is with the pointy ends. Are they ok? Don't want them to get hurt on them.

If they are fairly sharp, perhaps you could grind down the ends a little. I have always purchased mine at the pet store, so sharp ends were never an issue. But since they are so young, I think it's best to be careful.

Mine are most defiantly not store bought. I will cut them in to some pieces and cut off the last 1 inch of the spike to make sure not sharp points. I'll just keep the piece I cut off for later. When they are older. Have to give them something. They are starting to chew on things.
