An hour ago, a squirrel fell on concrete floor from top of palm tree . She was bleeding profusely from her nose , I think she broke her jaw. The incident took place near MLK library San Jose. It seemed that she was in trouble . My friend called pet rescue , but they were closed . Earlier she was crawling on floor, then after 15 minutes she climbed on a wall. What should I do in this case? Please help, I am new to this community.

Can you catch the squirrel? If it's bleeding that bad and has a broken jaw it will never survive without intervention. Squirrels shouldn't be out at night... how young is this baby?
Someone will be on soon to offer more advice but I'd go out and try to catch the baby and then wait for feedback. Keep it in a plastic container with holes in it. Keep it quiet and dark and give it fleece or tshirts to bury itself in.
If you catch it, take pics, that will help these guys help you.
Oh, and welcome to TSB. Thanks for caring about that baby too!!!

Sometimes when they fall they can just be stunned and if given some 'safe time' they can recover. While they are compromised they are targets for any predator that comes along like a cat.
I don't know if this is possible but if you could capture the squirrel and put it in a cage, bin, deep clean garbage can with fleece in the bottom, it would be great. It needs fleece or T-shirts to burrow in. Don't use towels. The loops are dangerous and can cause strangulation.
When they fall, they frequently fall on their nose so a bloody nose might not be as bad as it appears. I would put some comfort food in the container like apple, a shelled nut or avocado.
If you do decide to do this, you must be VERY careful. They BITE VERY HARD so be careful. If the animal is still alive tomorrow you might be able to find a rehabber. There is also a possibility that it could be released tomorrow if it looks better. Of course, if the jaw really is broken that's a different story.
Thanks for caring! :thumbsup

This is the only wildlife rehab place I found for San Jose California. If you can catch the squirrel and bring it in that would be great. You can keep it in a plastic dog carrier or plastic storage box with holes for airflow. If you have a heating pad you can place it under half the container and give it some fleece blankets to hide in til morning and then start calling the above place. Keep in a quiet room away from children and household pets.
