I asked a while back about safe 'repellents' for indoor chewing.. Tried all the old standbys.. Soap, vinegar, cayenne, lemon, bitter apple & commercial sprays.. Nothing works. My guy LOVES soap in fact..(eye roll)..
Well, I have been using those Absorbine back patches.. they have them at the dollar store.. When I was putting one on myself Dinky came over to check it out and literally flew across the room after one sniff.. AH-HA! I cut some small pieces and stuck them on the woodwork areas he is obsessed with and he won't go within feet of them now. Not even for a taste!! Plus, it peels right off without damage.
They have some that are Menthol and some that are capsicum, (hot pepper). I use menthol products on my horses, so I am assuming they are as safe as any other home solution. Plus the fact that the ingredient side goes face down and he won't go NEAR it, I'm not concerned about him consuming any..
Any 'professional' thoughts? I think I may be on to something here...:grin3
