I have a female gray squirrel ( about full grown) and a male rabbit about the same age. She has an awesome habitat room; just wondered if anyone has successfully allowed these two species to live together, for company to each other? We work during the day ; don't want her to be bored. She has plenty of climbing branches, a hammock, a stump nest box, and floor space ( 8' by 12'). Just wanted to ask before try- I may have already asked this, forgive me if did-

I have put bunnies and squirrels in the RC together and it was fine. But mine were all teenagers (squirrels) and ready to release bunnies. Not saying it is good or bad, just sharing my one time experience.

Ok, started experiment 30 min ago; so far no aggression on either part. They sniffed, and Snickers mildly fussed when bunny got near her box- otherwise farm. Gave bunny a box , and so far both just lounging in different areas.

I put cottontails with fox squirrels in the outside cage and the fox squirrels were pouncing on the rabbits and one ended up with a huge wound on his forehead that took 2 months to heal. So, I do not put cottontails with squirrels. If it's an adult domestic it should work out fine.

Also; I can separate the squirrel food from rabbit, but will alfalfa pellets be bad for Snickers?
