Hi joemac,
That's a little confusing to me. Are Honey and George inside pets or are they free in the trees? I see the squirrels in the truck and I'm confused. Did you raise them? If they are outside, Mom knows what to do. She will start weaning them around 12 weeks and eventually moves and leaves them when they are old enough to make it on their own. She has to move or kick them out of the house ... sorta like human kids. :peace :rotfl

I thought George was a boy now he's honey any way cat brought her home last August little messed up I tried to return her to her mother by leaving her in a box under the tree I found her, there were no nest in that tree she never came for the baby I brought her in gave her yogurt for cat bite there was no broken skin she acted a little dopey but recovered fully when she was older I would bring her out she stayed on my shoulder when she left my shoulder she went in to my truck and made a nest she got very angry growling and biting( I assumed she was or had babies) then she became very friendly last week I was driving she stayed home and I saw 2 little heads pop up and disappear now ( I get rides to work) the 4 little ones are playing but hide when I get too close I m wondering what will happen next will they just leave when time is right?

Now I'm really confused. Are you saying she had babies in your truck? :eek
That's sounds like a real problem to me. Is Honey taking care of the babies? How old are they? Is the picture you posted OF the babies? So your truck is parked and you're getting rides? How does she get in the truck? Is it hot in the truck?

Sorry for so many questions, I just want to make sure I understand.

One last question ... Who is the father? :rotfl :peace1

I leave the Windows open enough for honey to come and go as she pleases I leave fresh water and food ferret food various nuts in the shell yes she built a nest behind the back seat. Before I knew the babies were there id leave food outside for her and she would come in when I got home I don't have allot of trees in my neighborhood nor allot of squirrels there are some but I have a lot of red tail hawks so I didn't want honey unprotected so the windows aren't all the way down there is a wooded area about 100 yards at bottom of the street during the winter there was other squirrels coming in and eating crittermom told me to get her out with a squirrel box ..sorry I'm rambling

Well joemac, you win the prize for the strangest story I've read on TSB. :peace

A squirrel has babies in your truck and the wilds are coming and going, feeding in the vehicle. :shakehead That's different. :rotfl
I don't even know what to recommend. Based on the picture of your street, I see a recipe for disaster. I see dense housing with street parking with A LOT of cars. If the babies exit your truck on that street, I don't think they will survive an hour. They will be run over by a car, no doubt in my mind. Without trees to escape into they have no chance on the street or on the ground either.

Do you know anyone that has property with trees that's not on a busy street?

Yeah something needs to be done.
These babies will look at your truck as their safe place and this is anything but safe.
Tomorrow I will try to find members in your state that may be able to help you release.
Of course you would have to bring Mom as well. Are these little ones still nursing?
If you leave the windows open a little for mama to get in, what's stopping these babies from getting out? :thinking

I have speed bumps speed limit is 5mph it's a guarded neighborhood everyone knows honey I have huge backyard but not many trees she is from here.my question is they will leave the best I'm assuming soon they have to be 4 months old I don't want any contact with them so they return to the real wild. She will kick them out I hope. That is how I knew she was a female because her nipples grew as she feed them I noticed tonight they were waiting for her when she returned to the truck I was giving her walnuts until 8ish then she went to bed

Speaking of bed, that's where I need to go. :peace :)

We need to ponder this. This is quite a problem. I know there are members in your state. If they could release for you are you willing to do that? Hey, you don't even have to catch them ... just drive them over. :rotfl

As we say in the south ... You got yourself quite a pickle there! :jump

Oh my goodness, you are awfully sweet and patient to give up your truck!

I have to say, that is the most expensive nest box I've ever seen!

Seriously the nest in your truck thing is quite funny. I agree that you should probably find a rehabber near you or somewhere safe that they can be released with lots of trees. As cute as it is to have them nesting in your truck that street doesn't look safe speed bumps and all. I'd like to think mama would have already found a tree nearby to build a drey in if there was one she felt comfortable with. Since she hasn't done that those squirrellys need to be relocated to where mama can build a proper drey in the trees. those babies are almost big enough to leave on their own so relocating ASAP would be best.
