Have an adult male squirrel that has sore on his underside was wondering if I could use nustock on it, it says for wounds and is non toxic. I've read where it's worked wonders on many animals.Haven't seen anyone mention it here. Need to do something for it, it's not bleeding. I think he's just chewing at himself. Please help!

I am not familiar with this treatment. Is it possible that you could get a pic of the wound so we might be able to help a bit more thoroughly?

Nu-Stock ingredients:
Sulfur 73%, Pine Oil 2% and Mineral Oil 25%.
Product appears to be safe but does have a downside stating:
Consumption of this medication may cause nausea, cramps and diarrhea.
Due to its bitter taste, most animals will not lick this product."
We all know squirrels do not fall under the category of "most animals." :dono

It does have one hellofa reccomendation though...

From my experience, they seem to like the bitter tastes of those products meant to discourage licking and chewing. Can you get silver sulfadiazine cream?

Thank you for your response. I'm working on that, but doing some research I came acrossed colloidal silver. It sounds like a great non toxic solution. Have you heard of using that? It makes sense, that is the silver part of the medicine. I'm going to health food store to check it out, possibly aloe gel too. What do you think about that?

Not sure about the Aloe...it's poisonous to dogs.

The silver sulfadiazidine won't hurt him at all if he licks that?

Just got some colloidal silver, a friend gave me some silver sulfadiazine but wasn't sure if it was ok if he licked it. They give colloidal silver by mouth so I knot thats ok. Just put some on him so will keep posted.

I have used it on my squirrel and I know others here have to. I am not positive on how safe it is if they lick it, I know Lily has licked it off of her foot and I am pretty sure I have read here a long time ago that it was fairly safe if they ingested some.

I am not a fan of colloidal silver, have bought it before for my husband and it didn't work. I personally feel it is no different than water but I could be wrong.

Thank you Monipenny for you're input, so do you also think the silver sulfadiazine is the best thing to use? And if so how often?
