Hello,
Please help..I am worried about my lil girl Roxy...lately (2-3 weeks) she has not been as active as I am use to seeing her? shes no longer running (just walking/hoping (there are no injuries)..she does not sit-up on her bottom when eating (she tries at first to sit up and then she just looks like she rather eat lying down?...is she in pain?)...she use to run up the stairs (now she climbs slowly up each one? :-(....im very concerned.
Roxy is 8 months old Fox squirrel..she was found abandoned when she was a baby...the family that found her raised her for 4months and could no longer have her..I found about this and gave her a wonderful forever home. ...anyways, since I have cared for her she has been on HHB's (2-3 blks a day) and Teklad and few peanuts a day/apples and dandelion greens..im not sure what the previous family fed her but I believe it was pet store stuff and peanuts..she has a huge cage inside and outside...she has beautiful fur and looks very healthy other then the lack of movement of late :-(
Should I be concerned?...any information would be great and I thank you in advance!!

No more peanuts! They are terrible for them as they are not nuts, but are legumes. Is she actually eating all of her blocks or is she hiding them? They need more of an assortment of veggies. You can find a terrific list here http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?44440-Healthy-Diet-for-Pet-Squirrels

She is eating all her blocks...should I attempt to feed her more than the 2 or 3 if she is eating them?.. I have stopped the peanuts.....should I give her TUMS as emergency as its posted on another thread or just quit the peanuts and offer more veggies (she does not like and eat many veggies) and wait and see.

Thanks so much for your replys!

Offering her some tums could not hurt, but most important is changing that diet. She is not eating her veggies because if she does not eat the veggies she is being rewarded with junk food like peanuts. It's like giving a human toddler a bowl of cotton candy and a bowl of broccoli and complaining they won't eat the broccoli.

What veggies are you offering her? A variety? Only after she eats her veggies should she be rewarded with the occasional fruit or nuts.
