We typically dose at 50 mg/ml
Your suspension is 25 mg/ml
I'm just explaining this for anyone reading thinking this
is dosed too high.
The dose for Hugo would be 0.033 dosed twice daily 12 hours apart.
Dose for 7 days.
ALWAYS give probiotics 2 hours prior or 2 hours after dosing.
Here is a 1 cc syringe with the mark where the dose should be.

Go with Nancy's calculations, arfaan -- she's way better at this than I :)

OK -- Nancy check me here: your suspension is half the strength of that listed in WMB (you have 125/5 mg/ml which would be 25/1...they use 50/1 mg/ml to calculate.) SO i am going to double the recommended dose for a 50g squirrel of 0.02 to 0.04 daily dose. The loading dose (first dose) can be 0.04, then give him 0.02 every 12 hours for at least 5 days.
Yeah, I dosed it right to the gram weight of the squirrel. I know this is almost impossible to dose so exact, so if she get's in your amount that is fine.:thumbsup

Yes, amoxi is very hard on the tummy. That is why the yogurt or other probiotic is so important. Two hours before or after the amoxi so the amoxi doesmt kill the good yogurt bacteria.
prayers for healing coming your way....:grouphug

arfaan, continue the antibiotic for at least 3-4 days even if the clicking stopped. It WILL cause loose stools, so do the probiotics in between meals as suggested. You could give a drop of Kaopectate if you are able to get some -- once a day -- to keep the poops in check.

I am NOT an expert.
OP is in India. Does anyone know how to get Kaopectate in India? Or if there is an equally good and proven product OP can use?
My ideas: Check customer service for an online retailer to see if they can overnight. Call large pharmacies and international chains. Identify active ingredient and find similar product with all ingredients* that are safe for squirrels (*potential problem is that inactive ingredients might not be listed so more research might be needed). I have never heard of Entiroquinol so I have no idea if this would work or make matters worse, https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006022806130 I have no idea what the inactive ingredients are for pepto bismol, bismuth subsalicylate, etc. or if they are safe, https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=kaopectate+india

:Welcome to The Squirrel Board
You posted on an older thread. Do you have a sick squirrel? Clicking? Pneumonia? I noticed that you are in FL. We might have a member close to you. If you need to treat for pneumonia, Ciprofloxacin or Baytril are the best drugs for pneumonia but others will work. You could ask around to friends and family. It only takes one pill. We could help you dose.
Let us know how we can help you!
