So here's the low-down: Bron is on SMZ for Coccidia (he has no symptoms...but was informed that Bent and Pip tested positive so I am treating Bron and Pixie). Well, this evening I pulled him out of his pouch for his nightly snuggles and he was colder to the touch than he usually is. He wasn't..."cold" per say but I when I kissed his head I could tell he wasn't as warm as he usually is. He had an episode back in December when he almost died (cold, non-responsive, somewhat dehydrated). So he was ok after I gave him subQ ringers and some corn syrup.
I'm going to keep him hhalf on a heating pad tonight (honestly, may not be necessary but I would rather be safe than sorry) and he will get a hearty dish of warm formula (to help ensure he remains hydrated). He is eating and acting normally (a tad extra snuggly but he had days like that).
Had this happened to anyone? I wouldn't be surprised if it happened in a baby, or compromised adult...but he is fine. Good diet, good eater, solid poops and active. *sign* it's always something!

I've no first-hand experience with this phenomenon, but you're wise to give him some heat and some warm formula too. He may just have a little low blood sugar for some reason, which makes one cold and lethargic. :dono

He is his normal, happy, active self! I took him out of his big cage and put him in the baby aquarium halfway on the heat (which he is currently burying a treat in lol). I thought maybe I was overreacting but he slept in my shirt for about 45 min, was warmer, then in his cage for about 10 min drinking formula and was colder again!
I think it certainly could be low blood sugar. I just don't know why he would have it. He ate his HHB this morning, and his veggies last night. I guess I will just re-implement formula every night to be on the safe side. Oh, the things we do for our squees!

Today he still isn't holding Heat as well as I would like. Acting normal and hyper...but I want him to be warm!!!

He IS adorable! Y'know maybe it is a strange reaction to the SMZ....they are so tiny, you never know what these chemicals might do. :dono

He certainly has some man squoobs!!!! He is trying to work some of his winter weight off by running in his wheel.. :grin3 I don't think the extra formula he has been getting lately is helping :P
He has been on SMZ before when he was tiny and he never had any problems. I swear my critters just take turns needing vet visits or meds. Apparently it was Bronson's turn this week. :poke:poke:poke:poke

Update: he is completely back to normal now. So odd. My guess is, as IR suggested maybe low blood sugar or dehydration. He didn't "feel" dehydrated but as ya'll know, flyers are tricky with that! ;) thanks for all the well wishes! I'm one happy momma!
SMZ certainly will dehydrate them. Maybe he just wanted a little special Mommy and me time!:grin3
