Called and spoke with onlyonbroadway, 2 eyes open 5-6 week old squirrels, babies are in container on fleece with heating pad half under. Rescuer is hydrating with home made pedialyte and has Esbilac, using sterilized eye dropper in upright position, will get small syringe today.

Looking for rehabber near by, (Middlefield, MA.) they have equine SMZ on hand, but checking around for Cipro. Rescuer will keep checking back on thread hourly, and was asked to expect additional calls from the board.:thumbsup

Cipro, Baytril, Clavamox, Amoxicillen - any of those.

I don't have Cipro, as one member suggested. I do have double strength SMZ tablets that are for my horses. Horses get 10 pills 2 x a day. I don't know if they can be broken down for baby squirrels. Not giving anything until I am advised.

:)Bless Your Heart pappy, is SammysMom closer, the finder is experienced but will need some dosing for cipro as soon as they have it, and the weight on the Lil' Ones. She's open to phone help but I don't have the experience, they are both being warmed and hydrated.

OOB contacted me by PM. I spoke with her on the phone.
She has no way to weigh the baby.
I estimated the baby at 120g based on the pic. I hope that's close. If anyone thinks that weigh is off the dose can be adjusted.

The baby has been clicking for a while and I didn't think the baby could wait so the first dose has been given.
