I am helping an online friend with this squirrel and would like
to double check with every one what you feel the course of
action should be with this wild squirrel that is being hard to
capture at the moment.

I suggest a treatment of Ivermectin on a nut, with a diet of
HHB and a variety of approved vegetables and limited fruits.

Any of other suggestions? --Thank you.

Poor little fellow.:(

I think you are right on with your suggestions. I would add that if this fellow was in my yard, I would try to trap and keep indoors for a few weeks. He is emaciated and weak, a couple weeks of rest indoors with plenty of healthy food and water would probably help him a lot. I know you said he is hard to trap. The emaciated and hungry ones will often walk right in a trap if there is some food at the opening and just within, I like to manually spring the trap with a long rope.

Make sure the does of Ivermectin is small and correct, a too large a dose might really harm him in his weakened condition. I would even give him almonds and treats just so he gets some protein and fat in him.

I hope your friend can save him, he does not look like he has much more time in his present condition. I am saying a prayer that he responds to the meds and can be saved!

I agree with TubeDriver. That squirrel needs some TLC. I hope you can catch him.
