:)Good Morning Rexie, my Wife and I were literally just talking about this concerning our Lil' Annabelle, in short it varies from day to day. I know Folk's have discussed this issue several times, and Spanky showed some concern about a members Squirrel that was 'up' for a considerable amount of time. (Approx 10 hours) :tilt
:)They are such active Animals when they are awake, that when they sleep for extended periods it seems pretty normal. Even sleeping and waking off and on in a single day, doesn't appear to be abnormal. However sleeping for very long periods say 16 hours or longer at a time, 'could' be a sign of something unhealthy.
:)Hows the diet?

Hi there, he gets everything I learned here on the board. I just noticed he takes more naps during the day and wants to hit the sack at 10 pm sharp... I work during the day so eve is when I hang with him usually about 4 hours. He has been cutting it short at 10pm, used to be midnight. So its probably normal as they are not nocturnal creatures.

:)Hi Rexie, they really do seem to set their own hours, our Annabelle is a nocturnal Flyer and sometimes she will spend just as much time awake in the daytime as she does at night. And for the past few days she has been up for a few hours, and back down for a few hours, and during the winter she could sleep some days for as long as 14 or 15 hours. :tilt
:)I agree with a comment Spanky made on another thread, being up for a very long time without resting is something I would be more concerned about.:thumbsup

My Baby (Grey squirrel) goes to sleep at 7:00-7:30 this time of year...and will wake anywhere from 6:30 to 8:30 in the morn....she rests a lot during the day, but will take a long nap mid day :dono she sleeps more during the winter months, in bed no later than 5:30, but still wakes at the same time :thumbsup It will also vary with her activity level... Weekends when she's out all day, she's ready for bed earlier, also, light levels..today it was rainy and overcast and she was ready for bed at 6:00 :Love_Icon

Thank you for your reply's. I feel better now.... It seems that from day to day it could be alittle different with these guys..Tonite he is way hyper and jumping all over the place. very active doing lots of squirrely rolls and playing with his toys more than usual. I guess its cause spring is here....He still comes to his mommy for a brief rub and then off again he goes... Rexies mom
