I quarter them and let the squirrels do the rest.

My girl likes the whole thing. She doesn't eat it all but she sure has fun tearing it apart.

Sammy and my overwinters all love the baby ones! Sammy sometimes eats it just like a person. He pulls off the leaf and scrapes off the meat...lol

Omgods that was a cute video.. Arya's never had an artichoke before. I am so going to produce today and gonna pick up a choke for her. But she can't have it til tomorrow cuz "junk food day in moderation" was yesterday. I'd never even thought to give any of my squirrels artichokes Cause I was unsure which part to give them.

So cute, just too cute!!!:gigg:great
Miss Odus is 9-10 weeks is she too young to have a artichoke? She nibbles lettuce, haven't been able to really find anything she likes other than HHB's and that Esbilac topped off with heavy whipping cream! LOL.

That video was priceless! Little fellow went right for the heart. He knows good eatin!
I have never given mine a whole one, but I know a little squirrel who is getting one tomorrow.:grin3
What I have always done is to pick a few of the leaves off, making sure the meat is on the leaf, then I steam them in the microwave for 1 minute, then rinse in cool water, and they love them !
(The only thing I haven't started doing, is to add a bowl of melted garlic butter for dipping!)

I tried an artichoke today. The one I gave it to wasn't too excited about it but they eventually figured it out. :grin3
