Hey guys! So Iv'e got 2 squirrels that are 6months old or so. I'm wanting to start the releasing process asap, and thought about putting them in the outdoor cage today. The coldest the temperature is supposed to get down to 39, this is at night. Today is going to be 82 but the rest of the week is going to be 64, 48, 73, 71. the coldest night will be Thursday, 39, there is a 90% chance of rain.
Is this a good time to release my squirrels? If not when is the best time? Thanks for your time.

I don't know where you are, exactly, but I am in the NYC metro area and those temps sound like what we have here in the fall when I release my late summer kids (Oct/November). Sounds fine to me for six-month-olds. :thumbsup If it is going to rain, you might want to cover part of the top of the release cage (if it's open mesh) with a tarp so their nest boxes don't get soaked.

Jeeez...I won't see 82* in the daytime until May......maybe.
