Hello all. I retired a year ago and now have time to smell the roses and watch the wildlife in my neighbourhood. I live in a suburb in southern Ontario (Canada). We have lots of birds and loads of squirrels and even some chipmunks. We love watching the squirrels trying to get into the bird feeders - they're such acrobats! We have many black squirrels, some reds and my favourite, a couple of greys. I have questions and pix which I'll try to put into the proper locations.

Thanks Bravo. Where is the proper area to upload them? I don't see a dedicated pix section.

Hello from Ohio! I love meeting squirrel lovers from Canada because my mother-in-law, one of the best people ever to have lived, was from Winnipeg. I look forward to seeing photos of both your squirrels and the area where you are from.

I hear ya' about squirrels being acrobats when it comes to getting into bird feeders. It is truly remarkable what these marvelous critters are able to do in order to lay their paws on the food. You might be interested in watching a video posted on here by sleeping koala of a couple of UK Black Greys taking it one step further by showing off their tightrope walking skills.

What kind of birds use your feeder? Do you have any Flying squirrels visit your yard, too? I did not believe my exotic vet when he told me if I had the diurnal squirrels, there was a good chance I also had the nocturnal Flyers. It turned out he was telling the truth as it did not take me long to find them once I had become aware of their existence so keep your peeps open and look to the trees at night.
