Wild showed up at my door today.. looking for food.. HE might be my Pip or Basil. Skittish.. won't come near too close to me.

Looks like a mild cat attack.. Some scabbing on ear.. Some patches of fur missing with very mild scratch in the missing patches.. Looks just like a cat ( or something with talons or claws ) pounced on his back and he got away. Otherwise appears normal. No gaping wounds. No white tears.. no obvious distress... I suppose it could have been a hawk also.. Talons or claws .. that much is obvious.

Should I Try to capture him? Or should I try to treat him in the wild? I could see positives and negs to both.

I have Cipro , smz-tmp- and Penicillin.

Will try to get a picture of him ... But he is skittish... for weight etc.. If its one of mine.. then they would be about 6 months old.

ALSO.. his penis area is all stained up.. ( which makes me think he is my Basil as Basil had tons of trouble with UTI's ) Looked DRY.. but was not white.. Is this normal? I just saw a male yesterday who I thought was Basil also.. but that male yesterday did NOT have staining in his penis area. I have never seen an adult Squirrels testes before.. so maybe that is normal.. maybe it was just black or dark hair??? it was not wet or matted looking. ( Its exciting when I see males cause I rarely do.. my boys ran off to be wild.. and my girls hung around. )

It is mating season around here and many other places so it may be the perils of fighting over a female. The stained penis area is also making me think that is what it is. Lots of good eats and water for him will probably be enough.
