My roughly six month old flyer is a singleton. We lost her sister about 6 weeks ago.
Shes been fine but lately seems board. Stays at top of cage will go back and forth or do back flips for hours. Has become extremely food picky.
Also is not bonded to me. She had started to but now seems to have completely stopped. Is it too late to rebond?
She hates the wheel n like i said spends all time backflipping over n over.
What can i do
Btw, previous posts ive listed diet n told its good.

Lots of chew toys ... Bird toys that your flyer has to use her brain to get a treat out... New bedding strung around the cage to keep her busy building a new nest... Lots of out of the cage time... My boy like cardboard craft boxes they have no color or dyes I put treats and bedding inside my boys have fun tairing the boxes apart to get what is inside...:grin2 I hope this is helpful... Another thing you can try is a different kind of wheel...
Work on getting her bonded! It will help if you can get her in a pouch and wear her as much as possible. It is difficult for them to suddenly become singletons. Boredom sets in fast.

No, it's not too late to bond with her. I bonded with a one and a half year old male flyer. He is my sweetie. :Love_Icon He is now 4 1/2. For him, I didn't use a bonding pouch because he has a seizure history and I didn't want to cause any stress for him. It takes time. Baby steps. I feel that by their very nature they can bond when older because they are such social creatures they NEED company.
Oh ... and about that back flipping, none of mine (3) do that but I have heard of others that do it. IMO, it is not normal. I think it is a neurotic behavior. Maybe Anne or Skul has more info on it. If my flyer did that I would try to alter that behavior. Does the flyer get out of cage time? Maybe when you get her bonded it will stop ... don't know. That would drive ME crazy. :)
