Phantom pregnancy in rat

Hello guys! I just got back from the vet since all of a sudden my rat had enlarged mammary tissue starting yesterday. It's been determined to be probably hormone-related. I was prescribed Ovaban to end the false pregnancy but the vet said she wasn't sure but she didn't think it would harm anything and gave me the choice. Does anyone know about the safety of Ovaban (Megestrol acetate) for use in rats? If I just let the false pregnancy take its course, she is at risk for mastitis and uterine problems.

Well I guess I'll try it tonight and hope it works out since no one seems to know :/ I don't think I can safely wait any longer.

Thank you! She's on the fourth dose tonight and no ill effects. The vet said it will probably take 2 weeks to see an end to it.
