Good question. I'm sure the salt is no good. I found this. http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/nut-and-seed-products/3135/2

Sam has eaten them and lived to tell the tale, but I am not sure if they are recommended. What are you up to Jill? Rehydrating a pistachio eating squirrel? :dono

I give one or two every few weeks, to my babies, and they love them. Just don't give them more than two each and separate them out to every couple weeks and you should be fine.

I thought I read somewhere they were bad for them :dono I've given them to Baby when she was young...not many, but then I read somewhere they were bad so I stopped :dono

Thanks, everyone. My guys are wild, so I only worry about poisoning them. I have no salt pistachios that are a bit old. Things like this I throw out in small quantities on the window sill (4th floor) and if they get eaten I put s few out everyday. I can't just toss them onto the ground because we worry about rats here. BIG rats. I like them, but they horrify my neighbors and I do know that humans cannot live safely in conjunction with wild rats because of disease vectors.

My Wiggles who I raised and has been released for I think going on 4 years comes to me daily, I have always given him unsalted roasted pistachios :thumbsup My boy Conker gets one every night before bed :grin3
