On of my flyers got caught in the cage door and was pinned in pretty good. When I went to free him I didn't think about getting bit because none of the 3 has ever bitten be for any reason. Well when I put my finger by his head he bit me hard enough to make it bleed a lot. Certainly wasn't his fault, just scared. I let the cut bleed washed it out with peroxide and bandaged with an antibiotic. My question is, do I need to treat the bite in any other way? Is a squirrel bite anything like a cat bite that will get infected?

I don;t even ever remember anyone having a sq bite get infected. It' certainly rare. Nothing at all like a cat bite. Those beasts have filthy mouths.
Your bite should be just fine and heal in time. We often forget what fear and pain can do to our little fuzzy guys. Hope everyone is doing better now. :hug

Thanks for the responses. He seems to be fine, he got sat in my lap and enjoyed a treat while getting his ears petted. My finger is also fine.
