Hey guys, so I had my babies out in tha garage with me like every morning while I have my coffee, they explore tha front yard and play underneath the truck. I go in to heat up my coffee and when I came back out my girl was gone :(

Neither one of them have ever left the yard. And my boy would be the one to explore further then her so its just weird. Im hoping and praying a cat or sumthin didnt get her :(. But Ive checked tha nearby trees,, in like everyones yard. She is nowhere to be seen, :( ugh,, any suggestions? Do u think its possible if she is exploring that she will come back?
Also if she didnt return, Im wondering if her brother will get depressed because they are very close. :(
Anyone ever lose just one? Thanks guys

I won't belabor the point but squirrels should NEVER be let out in the yard. Squirrels are curious and will eventually always run off and head for the trees, many do not come back.

You can walk around your yard and neighborhood looking for her, bring along some treats.

If you have a smaller cage that she is familiar with, leave it outside near your garage with the door open and some food and water in it. Hopefully she will come back and you can get her. Leave that cage there overnight and check it after sunset and also early morning.

Good luck, I hope she returns quickly since she is not really equipped to be out there on her own. How old is she?

How old is this little one?
This is why it's suggested to NEVER bring a little squirrel outside unless they are in a cage.
They get spooked, or a predator comes and swoopes them off.
It's like having a 1 1/2 year old child. Unfortunately we can't put children in cages, but then
again, hawks and cats don't hunt children.
Typically they run up a tree and they are scared out of their minds too. They will "freeze" up
once they realize what they did, and again, (especially a single squirrel) typically they don't budge until dusk, and only if it's
really quiet.

Keep looking! If she is alive, she is probably within 150 feet or so of your home. She is probably terrified and may just be frozen up in a tree!

OK 6 months is a good age. Granted this is not the release you wanted, but as TD said, she may be very close to home and just waiting.
I also like his suggestion of keeping the cage near, something she is familiar with.
The others are probably in that though, correct?
Perhaps if you put that out and watch, even now, it's getting dark, watch and listen closely, she may just show
up tonight.

I would put the cage and siblings outside near where she was.
Carefully latched of course with them safely inside of it. I have not done this with squirrels, but have many times with kittens. The very best lure is their siblings. If possible to set it up so you could quickly close the garage door when she is inside. Leave it open just partially and if it is a garage door opener it is too noisy and slow so don't try it.

?????!!! Did she come back yet? She might just be out there chilling in the trees, foraging for her own foods, making friends or anything really. I know she wasn't a release but I've had some brand new releases that took right away to being outside. Some male/female would leave for days at a time and then come back. Maybe even come in the house. Then it would progress into weeks of being gone and coming back. Sometimes they'd come back and I wouldn't even know which squirrel it was until they jumped on me. They would even have battle scars. :hit But they came back and were ok. So please don't fret. Your sweet baby is probably having the time of her life. She might even be closer than you think and just isn't coming down to you cause she doesn't wanna go back in. They are all different once they get the taste of pure freedom.
