my baby squirrel (isnt such a baby anymore) I was holding her outside, which i never do, but thought i would give her some fresh air, but she started to run down my leg, and i thought she was trying to get away, so i grabbed her, and got the last bit of her tail, and it snapped off! Freaked me out now i am worried sick, there is a red bone like left, hair came off and about an inch of the end of her tail...i just feel awful, but she seems fine. Is there something i should do about this? I cant afford to take her to the vet, but also dont want it to get infected or her be in any pain. Any help is very appreciated, ty

Never take a sq who's not prepared for release outside without a cage!
That being said, this will be fine. The tails are designed to break off to help escape predators. It will dry up and be fine. If you want, you can put some Neosporin on it.
What is her diet?

I give her Henry's block twice a day, morning and night, and fruits and veggie's, twice during the day...she is a fatty lol, but I dont overfeed her, from what the charts say. I've had her since she fell out of a tree when she was about a week old, and she is now 4 months old. So i just hope that it isnt painfull, and that it wouldnt get infected somehow,..i will put on neosporin, ty!

Here's a story from just today about one going missing after being let outside. It's always a bad idea.

farrelli's right -- NO OUTSIDE for squirrels who are not about to be released. It will not end well. :(

so the "bone" left at the end of her tail, will that stay on, or fall off? And will it regrow?

It will likely dry up and fall off at some point.
