I am from India. I have a 7 mnth squirrel. I had it since it was 3 weeks old. His diet consists of baby formula (don't get kitten formula here)vegetables and fruits. For 2 days he is very lethargic more so since yesterday. At first I thought its coz of cold as winters have started here. He has started refusing water and food since yesterday. I am forcefeeding him paedylite with some liquid calcium supplements and some formula which he takes and goes back to sleep again.

What is the problem with him? Pls help I am very worried. The vets here don't have much experience with squirrels... I don't want to lose him.

P.S He has overgrown incisors which need trimming every week so I can't release him in wild.

Sent in to our Contact Us area... Any thoughts/knowledge much appreciated, I'm sending the writer a link.

Pedialyte for 24 hours only to rehydrate. You can continue to rehydrate after that with weak sugar water - 1 teaspoon sugar to 1 cup water.

Diet is deficient - his staple is human baby formula? At 7 months? We need to work on this. The liquid calcium. Can you give us info on this? Calcium is a good idea but he needs quite a bit of it.

Is this a palm squirrel?
